Increasing our faith is not something we can do by self-will but by surrender to God. As we know the Lord more, live according to His ways, and see Him at work in our lives, we will increase in faith.
Salvation isn’t about how we feel or what we do—it’s fully secured by faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross. When we believe and accept God’s promises, the Holy Spirit seals us, transforms our hearts, and guarantees we are eternally His.
Questioning your salvation is common, often stemming from immature faith or sin, and it comes with an opportunity to remember your salvation. Repenting of sin, praying for faith, meditating on God's Word, and reflecting on Jesus’s sufficiency to save will strengthen your faith when you are questioning it.
As a new Christian, you have been given new life through Christ! Growing as a new Christian happens as we spend time with God and know Him through His Word, prayer, and worship; live in community with other believers; listen to the Holy Spirit’s leading; pursue sanctification; and boldly live out our faith.
If we have been hurt by the church, we should pursue wisdom and direction from God and welcome His healing into our life. We are called to pursue peace—even if that means forgiving others or leaving a church in a Christ-like manner to find one that upholds biblical standards.

Doubt is not inherently sinful; it depends what we do with our doubt. Doubting Jesus can lead to deeper growth when we prayerfully examine our questions and seek God’s wisdom.
